How to Make a Christmas Snowman

Material Requirement

• Snow heaps
• Scarf or muffler
• Carrot
• Black peppercorns
• Two large black marbles, buttons, or similar stuff
• Black hat, holiday cap, or winter cap
• Twigs or thin tree branches
• Three Styrofoam balls in increasing sizes
• Ribbon or piece of an old scarf
• Black and red marker pens
• Black beads (optional)
• Red or orange construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Thin wire or readymade hook
• Paint

Steps to make Christmas Snowman:

• Outdoor Snowman: There are two ways to go about the basic structure - two-tier design or three-tier design. The two-tier design has a large sphere at the base, representing the whole body, and a small sphere at the top, representing the face. The three-tier style has an additional sphere of intermediate size, positioned in the middle.

- Making the body: Put two or three spheres stacked over one another
- Eyes: Fix the black buttons or marbles as eyes on the topmost sphere. Be cautious to place them well to prevent them from falling off later.
- Nose: Similarly, attach carrot for the nose area.
- Mouth: Place and press individual peppercorns one by one, tracing the shape of the snowman's smiling mouth.
- Muffler: Wrap the scarf or muffler around the neck.
- Hat: Place the hat.
- Hands: Attach the branches as the two hands to the middle or lower sphere, as the case may be.

• Indoor Snowman

- Body: Take three white Styrofoam balls. If you do not have the color, paint them in white. Paste the three balls together or skip the middle one, as above.
- Eyes: Use black marker, peppercorns, or beads to make the eyes.
- Nose: Create a small cone from red or orange construction paper for the nose area.
- Mouth: Make mouth with red or black marker.
- Muffler: Wrap the ribbon or piece of a scarf around the neck.
- Hat: Glue the cap or hat.
- Hook: Fix the craft hook on the back. You can construct one using the wire.
- Hands: Take three small pieces of wire. Twist them together all along the length, except a little part at one end. Bend out the wires from at the loose end to form a trident like structure. Fix it as a hand on the middle ball. Repeat Steps 9 to 11 for the other hand.

Who Invented the Snickers Candy Bar?

Who Invented the Snickers Candy Bar?

The Snickers bar was created by the Mars family corporation in 1930 with the name itself coming from one of their favorite horses. The Snickers candy bar is comprised of peanuts, nougat, caramel and milk chocolate. The original 2.07 oz (58.7 g) Snickers bar has 280 calories and 130 calories from fat. The twin pack, king size version has 220 calories per bar (47 g) with 100 calories from fat per serving.

Who Invented the Snickers Candy Bar?

Mars Inc. is the largest confectionery company in the world and was started in the early 1900 's by Frank c. Mars and his wife Ethyl Mars. They originally sold the Snickers bars in England and Ireland but named it the "Marathon" bar. In 1990, Mars changed its name to Snickers and this name change moved the candy bar from ninth to third place in popularity.

Thefamily also invented the Mars bar in 1936 with a European version that was slightly sweeter and missing the almonds. Until recently, the Mars bar was the most popular candy bar of the 20th century. In 2000, the Mars bar was renamed Snickers Almond and within 2 years, sales had plummeted, and Snickers took over as the most popular bar in the world, and the best selling candy bar in history.

In 2004, the king size version of the Snickers bar started to be phased out in England and was replaced by a twin bar pack. This twin pack was designed to comply with the Food and Drink Federation and its 2004 manifesto urging the Food industry to reduce salt, sugar and fat, provide clear food labels, and become more health conscious. The twin pack is the same weight as the king size version butis designed to be shared or saved.

This is a stark contrast to the deep fried chocolate bars that became popular in the early 2000 's. These fried Snickers and Mars bars generally weighed in at over 850 calories per bar!

Who Invented Skittles?

Who Invented Skittles?

Skittles were "devised by a gentleman who was named, by no coincidence, Mr. Skittle. Mr. Skittle one day looked up at the rainy sky of England, and saw a rainbow arching over his house. His curiosity led him to think what a rainbow would taste like. This is where Skittles catch phrase comes from: "taste the rainbow". Mr. Skittle began to experiMent with a myriad of different flavored candies in order to taste the rainbow. Finally he decided on one formula which would be the Skittle we all know and love today. The five original flavors were created by Mr. Skittle himself. These flavors were grape, lemon, lime, orange and strawberry. Soon after, Skittle began to mass produces these candies all over the world. In 1974, full production of skittles beganby and English candy company. The trademark letter "s" was inscribed on every skittles candy from day 1, however it was originally a deep violet color, blackish. This would later change to the white colored skittles have today in 1988.

As demand for skittles grew, these candies began to be shipped internationally, coming to the United States in 1979 as an import candy. The popularity of the skittle grew so Fast in the United States that in 1981, the company was moved to Skittle the United States for good, and the European production of skittles was moved to the Czech Republic, to be made by a section of the Mars candy company.

Skittles Candy - The Pot of Sweets at the End of the Rainbow

Skittles Candy - The Pot of Sweets at the End of the Rainbow

Mention the word Skittles in Europe and you might be invited to a lawn bowling tournaMent. Not, here in the land of greasy, Fast Foods and sugary beverages, though. No, here in the U.S. a Skittle or Skittles Candy to be exact, is a chewy, bite size, morsel of heaven.

Skittles Candy - The Pot of Sweets at the End of the Rainbow

Skittles Candy - The Pot of Sweets at the End of the Rainbow

That's right! The makers of Skittles Sweets will have you believe that it is actually like tasting a rainbow. And if you were in fact to take a bite out of a rainbow, the distinct flavor combination of Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grape and Strawberry found in the Original Skittles, would certainly grace your drooling taste buds.

Now, I don't know about all that, but what I do know is that Skittles taste great. But don't take my word for it. By the end of today over 200 million of Skittles sweets will have dropped of the assembly line. That is enough to give each school age child in the U.S. at least one sweet or sour candy bite.

And speaking of school age children, one Kindergarten teacher claims that Skittles Candy actually beat out Starburst as the candy of choice for bribing her classroom into better grades.

Another interesting bit of trivia has it that each year enough Skittles Candy delights are made to leave a trail every inch to the Moon. That would certainly make for a tempting trip - Don't you say?

Hungry for some more Fruit Skittles Fun Facts...

Well, did you know that a standard bag of Skittles Candy has on average 42 tasty sweets and that it takes eight whole hours to coat the fruity center of each delightful treat with its own candy shell?

Also, each one of the five Skittles flavors makes up approximately 20 percent of each bag.

Speaking about fruit flavors, did you know that the five original flavors found in 'Skittles the Candy' were not left to mere chance? Rather YOU, the consumer, actually prefer the Orange, Lemon, Lime, Grape and Strawberry Flavors most - and not necessarily in that order.

Of these original Skittles flavors, did you know that Strawberry is the only flavor that is found in all the Skittles Candies products including Tropical Skittles, Wild Berry Skittles, Sour Skittles and Skittles Crazy Cores?

So, how does knowing all this trivia help your in a pinch? Well if you ever find yourself lost in some woods with a large 3.5 pound bag of chewy, Chocolate Skittles... just leave a 'Hansel and Gretel' bread-like Skittles Candy trail behind you and most assuredly some sweet tooth out there will find you.
